Description

Material: Skewers should be made of food-grade stainless steel (e.g., AISI 430), which is corrosion-resistant and does not warp under high temperatures.
Length: The optimal skewer length is 50-60 cm, allowing for easy placement inside the tandoor and removal without burning yourself.
Thickness: The recommended thickness is 1.5-2 mm for standard dishes. For larger pieces of meat, skewers up to 3-4 mm thick can be selected to prevent sagging.
Shape and Design:
Hook/Lock: Unlike barbecue skewers, tandoor skewers typically have a special double hook on top or a hole in the tip for attaching a lock (e.g., a paper clip), which ensures vertical positioning and prevents food from falling inside. Blade: Flat blades are preferred as they prevent the meat from turning while cooking.
